GSE137869: Caloric restriction reprograms the single-cell transcriptional landscape of Rattus norvegicus aging

Bulk RNA sequencing

To obtain the first aging and CR cell atlas, we systematically analyzed 168,703 cells across 6 kinds of metabolism-related tissues sampled from young and old rats subjected to ad libitum feeding (AL) or 30% calorie-restricted diet since middle adulthood. Systemic effects of aging and CR on different tissues were evaluated in terms of cell-type composition, cell- and tissue-specific molecular programs, transcription factors as well as cell-cell interatomic network. We discovered comprehensive aging-associated disturbances in these aspects, which were partially rescued by CR with the most marked effects in brown and white adipose tissues.
