GSE123262: miRNA expression profiles and molecular networks in resting and LPS-activated BV-2 microglia - Effect of cannabinoids

Bulk RNA sequencing

Cannabinoids are known to exert immunosuppressive activities. However, the mechanisms which contribute to these effects are unknown. Using lipopolysaccharide (LPS) to activate BV-2 microglial cells, we examined how 9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the major psychoactive component of marijuana, and cannabidiol (CBD) the non-psychoactive component, modulate the inflammatory response through miRNA expression SOURCE: Giovanni Coppola (gcoppola@ucla.edu) - Giovanni Coppola Laboratory, Informatics Center for Neurogenetics and Neurogenomics (ICNN).
